OK, as I’m in Thailand now since February 2007 waiting for Godot I do what I know second best to diving:

After spending May in Germany (Alla in Moscow) we are back in Thailand with a 3-Months-Visa!

Well…I’m just telling. Don’t shoot the messenger!
In the meantime Phuket is quiet, most of the tourists gone, some restaurants and bars closed…low season. Actually a great time to be here and appreciate this beautiful country!

Hey…got some news: Soft Opening of Machchafushi will be End of June 2007!
But we probably will not open the dive center than…
Right now it’s planned that Alla (see beside) and me we will open it end of August to make sure the island looks like it should!
In the meantime we will stay in Thailand until 1st of May as the 90 day maximum visa time here will run out and than…???

We will se…and Alla and me we will stay in Thailand until middle of April getting tanned and having our fifths month of holiday.
We’ll do some diving at the Similan Islands to not forget our diving skills.

I left Khasab in Oman to work on the Maldives on Machchafushi Island.
It was planned to be open on Nov 15th, 2006. But as the rain didn’t stop pouring there they couldn’t finish the woodwork. So the opening date was postponed and postponed and I had to wait. A Dive Center Manager without a dive center!
So I went 6 weeks to Dahab in Egypt on Dec/Jan.
Then I went to the BOOT Show in Duesseldorf in Germany for Lagona Divers to represent my still not existing dive center (thats where the photo has been taken) and since Feb 3rd, 2007 I´m in Thailand – mainly Phuket – waiting for the island being ready. It’s not the worst place to be…and a very cheap place (my salary isn’t big enough right now to live in the “Emirats Palace” in Abu Dhabi)
My flight to the Maledives is now sheduled for middle of march as the island will open end of April and I have to prepare and install the dive center beforehand.
Maybe see you there one day?!
